OUR STORY
Heezie's is a tribute to owner, Emma's, late grandmother, Mary Louise Wells. As her first grandchild, Emma gave her the name Heezie. She taught Emma her love for accessorizing, gift-giving, decorating, and all things fabulous!
Meet the Heezie's Team
Founder and Owner
Emma Wells Strait
With a background in retail, Emma started Heezie's as a social media and pop-up shopping experience in 2020. In 2022, a retail space became available in her hometown, Mountain Brook, Alabama, and she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of opening a brick and mortar store. Her goal is to create an approachable environment where everyone can shop for items to make their lives and spaces happier. She wants to help her customers celebrate every day colorfully!
Buyer and Sales Manager
Lala Plummer
If you have ever visited Heezie's in person, you have probably met Lala!
She assists with buying, and manages everything behind the scenes and in the shop. LaLa grew up in Selma, Alabama, and after graduating high school, she attended the University of Alabama. While in Tuscaloosa, LaLa worked a retail job and enjoyed sales enough to pursue a retail management career after graduating. She is extremely passionate about design and very knowledgeable about all of the furniture lines we carry. When LaLa is not at Heezie's, she is working with her real estate clients. She also loves to visit her family and friends in Selma, and travel back to Tuscaloosa to see the Crimson Tide play!
Stella Wallace
Stella keeps the team young!
She is our TikTok aficionado. She assists with buying, and helps Emma and LaLa manage everything behind the scenes and in the shop. Stella participates in her high school's worked-based learning program. She is very knowledgeable about all of our inventory. When Stella is not at Heezie's, she enjoys babysitting and hanging out with her friends.
Selena Wells
Selena is the mother of Heezie's owner, Emma.
With a degree in studio art and a work history in several creative areas, including visual merchandising, she is a natural fit to step in as needed at Heezie's. Selena assists with buying and works as a sales associate when extra hands are needed. When Selena is not working, she enjoys spending time at the beach and the lake and caring for her family.
